Reset your forgotten password

Use Forgot password on the login page to get a temporary password and set a new one.

If you have forgotten your SalesLogs password, you can reset it yourself from the login page. SalesLogs emails you a temporary password, and you then set a new password of your own.

Reset your password

  1. Go to the SalesLogs login page and click Forgot password?
  2. Enter your work email address exactly as it is registered in SalesLogs, with no spaces before or after it.
  3. Click Reset Password. SalesLogs emails you a new temporary password.
  4. Open the email from SalesLogs and copy the temporary password.
  5. Go back to the login page and log in with your email address and the temporary password.
  6. On the Create New Password screen, enter your new password and enter it again to confirm it.
  7. Click Set Password.
  8. Complete two-factor authentication to finish logging in. See Set up 2FA with an authenticator app.

Important: only the newest temporary password works. It stays valid until you use it to log in and set a new password. Each time you click Forgot password?, SalesLogs sends a new temporary password and the earlier ones stop working.

Choose a new password

Your new password must have:

  • at least 12 characters
  • at least 1 lowercase letter
  • at least 1 uppercase letter
  • at least 1 number
  • at least 1 special character, such as ! ? # $ % & or *

Passwords are case sensitive. If your new password does not meet these rules, SalesLogs shows them on the screen so you can try again.

Note: these rules apply when you set or change a password. If your current password was set before September 2026 and is shorter, it still works until you next change it.

If the reset email does not arrive

  1. Check that you entered your email address exactly as it is registered, with no spaces.
  2. Check your junk or spam folder.
  3. Ask your IT team to check that emails from SalesLogs are not being filtered or quarantined.
  4. If you request another reset, use only the temporary password in the newest email.

New to SalesLogs? Your email may have bounced

If your SalesLogs profile was set up before your work email address was active, the first emails from SalesLogs bounce. To protect delivery for everyone, our email provider then stops sending to that address, so no SalesLogs emails reach you, including your login details, password resets and 2FA codes.

To have the block removed:

  1. From the email address you log in to SalesLogs with, send an email to help@saleslogs.com asking for the bounce to be removed. Sending it from that address shows it is now active.
  2. SalesLogs support asks our email provider to remove the block. This usually takes about an hour, and SalesLogs support lets you know when it is done.
  3. Click Forgot password? on the login page again and use the temporary password in the new email.

Still can't log in? Ask your admin

Some problems can only be fixed by a SalesLogs admin at your dealership, usually your Dealer Principal, Financial Controller, General Manager or IT Manager. In these cases Forgot password? will not help on its own.

  • Your email address on file is out of date. Ask your admin to update the email on your user profile, then request a reset again. See Change a user's email address.
  • Your account was deactivated for inactivity. The reset will not work until your admin restores your profile. See Why was my account deactivated?.
  • Your account is not set up to sign in. If Can Sign In and access own SalesLog is turned off on your profile, the reset does nothing and no error is shown. Ask your admin to turn it on.

Your admin can also reset your password for you. See Reset a password for one of your users.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the temporary password last?

It stays valid until you use it to log in and set a new password. If you click Forgot password? again before then, the new temporary password replaces it.

I reset my password but the temporary password says it is invalid. Why?

You are probably using a temporary password from an older email. Only the newest one works, so find the most recent email from SalesLogs and use that password.

Why do I have to email SalesLogs support if my email bounced?

The block sits with our email provider, not in SalesLogs, so neither you nor your admin can clear it. Emailing from the blocked address confirms it now works, and SalesLogs support then asks the provider to remove the block.

Can SalesLogs support reset my password?

Yes. SalesLogs support can send a password reset from your user profile. Contact SalesLogs support, or ask your dealership's admin first, as they can do the same.
